GETTING INVOLVED
Age Link welcomes participation from the community in
a number of ways:
-
GARDENING:
Age Link has an award winning community garden. This special place is
lovingly cared for by a Campus resident and Master Gardener Faye
Boyle. Supported by a “Sprouts” committee, Faye has developed a
wonderful place for Age Link children to learn about plants and
flowers. Her goal is for children and adults to develop a love for the
earth and all of its gifts. The Garden is a place to appreciate the
beauty of growing things, the peace of the Serenity Fountain, the joy
of the children and the reward that goes with hard work and time well
spent. The Garden offers flexible hours, weekend getaways, rewarding
entertainment with children and companions with like interest!
-
GRANT WRITING:
Age Link must continually seek grants to support its work. Quality
care comes at a higher price than tuition can bear…therefore a
wonderful group of community volunteers work diligently to secure
opportunities for grants to support the work of Age Link.
-
VOLUNTEERS:
Our volunteer program is a key part of our mission. It provides
training and opportunities for volunteers of all ages. Rocking,
filing, singing, playing….All are Welcome. Volunteers in our program
are provided with full orientation. All volunteers must complete
background checks, along with fingerprinting. Our volunteers enhance
our classroom ratios, although, they are never counted as staff.
