Health Care of Your Child and Our Center
KEEPING EVERYBODY HEALTHY
The health of everyone at this center is very important. It is
important that parents and staff are partners in keeping everyone well.
Daily health checks will be done by staff on each child at the beginning
of the day. We ask parents to share any health concerns or changes in
their child's health during the previous 12 hours.
Symptoms/ Signs of Illness
- Persistent fever of 101 degrees or higher
if the child is two or under.
- Fever of 101 degrees or higher if the child is between two and six
years of age.
- In case of fever, the child of any age must be fever free for 24
hours without medication before returning to the center.
- Vomiting on two or more occasions within 24 hours.
- Diarrhea of three or more occasions within 24 hours.
- If a child has one UNCONTAINED diarrhea, they
will need to be excluded from the center immediately.
The child may return after having at least one normal
formed bowel movement.
- Yellow or greenish eye or nasal discharge
- Draining rash.
- Pink eye, a child may return after 24 hours of appropriate
treatment with antibiotics.
- Lethargy that prevents participation.
- Head lice or nits.
- Open bleeding sore that cannot be covered.
- Uncontrolled coughing.
- Difficult or rapid breathing.
- Any infection requiring antibiotic treatment requires that the
child remains
out until they have been on the antibiotic for 24 hours.
